  • [Solved] Where is VC-64?

I know it's not included in X3 but just the same as VVocal and R-Mix they all were in X2. Now in X 3 while I can access VVocal and R-Mix I can't find VC-64.

I have all the other **.64 appended Cakewalk plugins.

I thought there was a discussion about it since X3's release but a search (Google) only found some pre X3 posts from earlier this year.

Any clues or do I need to reinstall X2. BTW, I know it's 32 bit only. BUT I like it quite a bit and was using it via jBridge with success.

I'm pretty sure you have to do a custom X2 install, and select just those components. Then do a full plug in re-scan and you should be good to go.

Yeh I figured that. I was just wondering why it's gone from X2 as well because it was there before I installed X3. Yet VVocal and R-mix which aren't include either with X3 but were in X2, are still there.

Just another one of those weird things. I was really wondering if this sort of stuff has effected others.

I have used Vin64 after my upgrade to X3 from X2.

I had no custom plug in layouts in use. I wonder if that has something to do with it

I've found it. I had it in a location not being scanned as it is 32 bit. I don't use any custom plugin layouts.

After moving it to the proper folder, It shows up bit-bridged (as expected), but I get a message saying that it is "not suitable for this host and will be bypassed". Same message in Sonar 8.5, X2 and X3. All installed with their respective updates.

I'm reluctant to do a reinstallation of X2 as I'm worried that it may overwrite some shared files/utilities (for X3) with older versions and mean I might need to reinstall 3 and it's running fine at the moment.

There's nothing in the VC64 I haven't got replacements for but I like it as it's a complete "make it sweet" package.

Yeh. Apart from IKM's synths it's the only 32bit plugin I still use. Or did use until it went fritz.

+loads.

I know it probably isn't going to happen but it'd be great if it was re-worked as a 64-bit plugin. I love it but it doesn't work properly with Jbridge and bit bridge annoys me 'cos it keeps it on top all the time.

It's the whole Kjaerhaus thing and licensing I guess. Still I can't make it work at all the moment. Grrrhh!

I'm a BIG VC-64 fan. I won't go into the reasons now, that would be a very long post.

I'm currently using it in X3 no problems, don't remember exactly what I did but I think I did an "advanced" install of X2 and selected only the VC-64. I won't be at my main music computer for several days but try installing only the VC-64 from X2, and maybe that will work for you.
