Thanks Craig. I'll give it a go tomorrow. That was my plan too but I appreciate the confirmation.

How ironic ... When something is 64 but is actually 32.

I assume the audio processing is 64 bit as opposed to running in a 64 bit environment.

Same here mudgel- no issues at all with VC-64 - I too use it in loads of projects. I had to do a custom install from my X2 install files (I installed X3 "cold") did a re-scan of the 32 bit Cake VST folder and it ran 1st time.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but:

Hey mudgel did you solve this problem of getting the warning message when you load the VC-64? I fixed it for me.

When I inserted the VC-64 into the FX Bin, I was getting the message: Warning: The VC-64 can not run on this Host; processing will be bypassed!

I was getting that message because jBridge was loading the VC-64. For some reason this plug in was automatically loading with jBridge. You have to have BitBridge load it. So use the Cakewalk Plug In Manager and unselect "Load using jBridge wrapper." After that when you insert VC-64 into a FX Bin it should load OK.

I contacted Joao (the creator of jBridge) to see if there was a way to get this plug in to load with JBridge, but it seems there isn't. He said:

"I am sorry but there's no workaround for this for it. :-( That is some
sort of protection in the plugin to lock it to Sonar ( jBridge is a sort
of a mini host in between ).

The locking method is outside the VST specification."

I was only loading this plug in in SONAR X1 and X3, but that's what he said. "It's locked."

Hope that helps.

I agree with others that it would be really nice if they made the VC-64 a native X64 plug in, but maybe it has something to do with Kjaerhus Audio preventing them form doing that. Also, maybe that's why Cakewalk gave us the VX-64 Vocal Strip.

Cya around.
