  • Melodyne shortcut but not V-Vocal? (p.2)

Thanks Alex... I remember it now. I'm surprised that it's as deep an issue as the response makes it sound. The difference of using a mapped key to call the create routine instead of a menu click? I don't see what the issue is, but there's lots I don't know...

I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time... Here's hoping something good happens and I can buy the Melodyne Editor package one day soon... And then hoping that it works as well for me as VV (except for the shortcut issue ;-))...

All is well with the world, Keni.

There are things I wish Sonar would do with Step Sequencer, so I can TOTALLY relate.  :)

Thanks Bob...

Right now I'm mostly at peace with Sonar's current config.... I still find Lanes uncomfortable, and the only thing I am severely hampered by is the problem with Zoom that I describe in many other threads... ;-)

But this seems like such a simple thing I was surprised at the response when it was posted long ago and I guess I have never fully accepted it.... and sorely need it... ;-)

one of the real bummers with any software is whn they replace something that has worked so well for most of us, but as times change, so does technology. (im not always happy about that one either)its like getting old
it sucks

with that said, I hope this works out for you keni, your a good guy in my book.
ive always appreciated your views and opinions
I would keybind it buddy.

This is unfortunate as I use V-vocal for a lot of my editing as well.
I love Melodyne and find it a valuable tool, but it doesn't have the surgery that V- vocal has when it comes to editing in the singletrack version of the purchase for the upgraded to editor version will have to wait for now.

I miss the ability to key bind it badly.

Thanks Chuck...

I don't believe they will give any attention to this.... or they would have... It works as is, just a bit more painfully slow/tedious...

Here's hoping that one day soon I will be able to afford upgrading to Melodyne Editor and that it can do what I'm used to with VV...

Hi Keni, I, too, was/am a fan of VV.  The pencil tool has been very useful for me, and, though, Melodyne Editor can   deal with pitch drift in a different way, Essentials lacks the power that the pencil tool in VV has.  If I'm reading things right, you still have access to VV, albeit, it takes a few extra clicks to get there.  Is this correct?  If so, then let us be grateful that it's still with us, even if it take 3 to 4 seconds longer to get there.

Yes... I use the draw tool as well and I'm a bit nervous to spend money I can't on Melodyne Editor hoping that it has the tools to fully replace VV...

I am grateful that VV still works or I'd be sunk... The way I work I need to frequently create small regions so it means repeating the menu dive far too often for comfort....

But I'll have to be sad while I charge my clients for more time as it takes more time than it used to for this operation...

Best of luck to you too!

Melodyne editor is very good, but it does lack the draw tool, so if you like using that (I do) it doesn't completely replace VV. It does a lot of things VV can't though, so I'm happy that I have both. If you watch the tutorial vids for melodyne editor, there is a lot more to it than pitch/timing correction, it has a lot of creative uses as well as corrective uses. The lack of ability to create a shortcut for VV is a minor annoyance, but on the plus side VV seems to be much more stable in X3, so any time lost with the extra clicks should be more than compensated for by not having the regular crashes.
