  • The Melodyne upgrade is only available after X3's version is installed...right?

While waiting on my new computer, I'm guessing I have to install Melodyne first, before the upgrade offer appears....?  Anyone know how long this offer is extended thru?  At $149, it seems like a great buy to get the whole program, and I know I'll want to use the Polyphonic abilities for sure.

If I remember correctly, you'll get the offer once you register Melodyne.  I think it was a 30 day offer.

More like 15 days for me.  I just registered Essentials last night and my Editor offer expires on the 17th.

so it's offer length STARTS when you first register it then....?  it's not based on a calendar time frame....like "expires April 20th" or something like that.   So I should be able to upgrade, as soon as I install X3 and Sonar's version of Melodyne....?  good!

The melodyne installation software is the same for all versions and it is only the serial number you enter that defines which version you get to use. The upgrade is a no brainer IMO both in terms of price and functionality as the X3 bundled version is a bit limited.

The upgrade is definitely worth it.  The full version is far more useful.

thx guys...the question isn't whether to upgrade or not.  I can do that now (even without my new computer with X3 installed), but it's $299 if I go thru the Celemony site and upgrade from "Essential" (provided with X3) to "Editor"...Celemony's best version.
Saving $150 would be nice and was checking on the availability of the $149 upgrade offer.

mixmkr,

I believe it's based on when you register Melodyne Essential.  If I remember right, the process goes like this:

1. Install and activate X3.
2. When you try to use Melodyne Essential in X3, it will prompt you for the Melodyne serial number.
3. When you input the Melodyne serial number, it will then guide you through the registration process.
4. During that process, you will be asked if you want to upgrade to Editor for $150.
5. If you select No, they will send you an email with the same upgrade offer, and you will have 15 days to decide.

thx Silhan.  My mind is already made up.  Need to tell the "accountant" though...but she also happens to be related to me too!
