I have gone to where the plug-in's are listed and ran a scan however i'm missing a step or something. one more question. when I reinstalled X-2 I chose the 64bit as apposed to 32bit. do I need to do 2 installs or just use the 64bit?
the main question is how do I get my TOONTRACK stuff to work again. this is what I see when I open X-2

The title of the thread is a little misleading. This is not a reinstall. A reinstall would have been the 32bit version of SONAR. You may still want to put the 32bit version back on the machine. Both 32 and 64bit versions of SONAR may be installed on the same machine. The short answer to your question is yes, to get the Toontrack software working in 64bit SONAR, install the 64bit versions of the Toontrack software. While you are at it, consider installing any other third party plug-ins which have a 64bit version.

@ joey - did you set the VST scanner to look in the right folder for 32 bit plugs ? IIRC The 64 bit version will default to a different folder location to search.

thank you, I will now install the 32 bit sonar then run the 32 bit VST scan. I am a bit confused because the toontrack stuff is still in my computer I thought sonar would automatically recognize it?

Not recommending it necessarily, just pointing out that they are still there and will work if he chooses to do that. Personally,  I have some plugs that I use all the time that there are no 64 bit versions of, hence why my 64 bit VST scan is also set to look in the 32 bit folder.

Experience with some 32bit plug-ins may not translate to others. I would strongly advise against using the 32bit versions of EZDrummer and Superior Drummer in 64bit SONAR. I would also suggest when running both 32bit and 64bit versions of SONAR it is a good idea to segregate the 32bit plug-ins into at least two locations: one for plug-ins which work well in 64bit hosts and one for 32bit use only.

As someone who only entered the 64bit world with X3, I agree that installling 32 bit Sonar alongside is a good way to go. Generally, if a project was started in 32 bit, I continue to work on it in 32 bit to save having to swap out and re-create the effect of any plug-ins that are no longer available. Any new projects, I start in 64bit.

I am at a loss, I have no idea what i'm doing wrong. when I bought the drum software there was no problem with getting it to run. I don't understand all this 32bit 64bit stuff and I don't care, I just want it to work. this whole thing started because I tried to use something called "duckworth" big mistake!! i'm unbelievably frustrated. sometimes I long for a tape machine. this computer stuff is great when it works but growing up in an analogue world I sometimes get totally lost like I am now.
I would appreciate any step by step guidance so I can get back to work.
