Actually, what he meant was that she didn't have an Alembic. 

I can't stand Madonna since she lost the plot, threatened to blow up the White House and started collecting children as if they were hamsters, but in her heyday she did have some excellent tracks. I think the one which really evokes the past for me is Live To Tell off the True Blue album, the beautiful opening chords for this sound so iconic now. They've been sampled so many times.
