As far as I read it, he time stretched (or compressed) using Melodyne.

I assume that as well; but making that assumption is not necessarily a good thing, since resolution may not come from it.

I just mean you told him to bounce twice, "one after using Melodyne, and once after the time stretching".
EDIT It's possible I entirely misunderstand, I agree it's good to get more info.

Have you tried stretching to only about 30-40% first and seeing if it still has the same problem?

I think the wordings are going wrong here...or?
The OP started by shrinking to 85%, which means 85% of the original length (100 sec to 85 sec)
Shrinking to 30-40%  (100 sec to 35 sec) is twice as heavy, and is  sure to destroy the voiceover unusable.

Yes. I have tried turning off fast bounce, off fast freeze etc.

Have you tried turning off fast bounce?

I work at 48/24

What sample rate are you working with? I'm wondering why it speeds up!!

Djoni, when you say you time stretched to 85%, which do you mean:

100sec stretched down to 85sec

or

100sec stretched down to less than 30 sec?

Reason being is that too much stretching will result in unsatisfactory results.

Did you try the new project test I asked you to do?

Just keep us informed

Sorry guys, had a crazy morning in the studio and had to travel in the afternoon. Will only be back in the studio on Tuesday. Will try the project you suggested.

By stretching to about 85% I mean a 100sec clip ends up as a 85sec clip. Not much stretching at all.
And as I explained, it sounds fine when I play the project. No artefacts of speed problems at all.
The problem appears when I export, bounce to clip or freeze.

You mean 85 seconds I assume...(not %)

Yes Alex, I fixed it ;-)
