Don't know what's going on yet.  But something weird with the wheel setting.  Recording trumpet patch (like usual) on playback it's wacked sometimes, depending on where I start playback.  Have to manually insert a zero wheel point.  It's weird the only thing I've changed is the e patch.  Will explore further.

Absolutely something weird going on.  With track soloed, midi note pitch may very depending on where I start it up.  No wheel events in sight in the soloed track.  No clue.  Never seen (heard:-)) anything like it.

maybe Preferences > Project > MIDI "Zero Controllers When Play Stops" is what you are looking for

Good thought but dig it, track solo'd and no wheel control information in sight!  Not just one track too.  Same test, same effect can happen on another track.  Very odd.  If it's real, others will find also.  But in the meantime, is there a way to back out patch e without re-installing it all?

which trumpet - from garritan personal orchestra 4?  more info we have makes it easier like
"i'm using aria player version x.nn from garritan as a multi-timbral synth
i load the <insert patch name here> and record some notes moving the pitch wheel and the following happens
<insert following here>"

sounds to me like you've removed all wheel data but the patch is still out of tune or drifting in tune. that's an assumption on my part, is that correct?

It's not just the trumpet :-)  Seems any of the instruments I have loaded into it.  It's annoying but I just drop in a zero wheel when it happens and that fixes it.

So what do I think.?.  I think controllers aren't be zeroed.  Or something far worse and goofier.  And it's dependent on where I start playback (and I've looked and looked to make sure nothing else is causing it).  It's not life-threatening so as I'm very busy I'm living with it for the moment.

just to be clear we're talking pitch wheel and not mod wheel right?  pitch wheel should zero but mod wheel won't.  i wish i could check, but my keyboard stopped working the other night and it's basically a big paperweight right now.

Correct, pitch wheel, though I use the mod wheel to control volume per the Garritan way.  But I'm doing nothing different than I've ever done.
