Was just reading Craig's Visiting the Mother Ship thread and near the end Noel chimes in about X4 and then someone mention the re-naming of Sonar once Tascam kicks in.
Out of curiosity I just went to the Tascam web site and looked at all the offerings they have for interfaces.
What I find strange is you'll still see this in the description for each product.

included with the US-2000 is a copy of Cubase LE5 from Steinberg.

Why are they not including Sonar LE ? just wondering?

PS- I hope Tascam get's the Cakewalk programmers to lend a hand with some new drivers.

That'll change soon.  Especially once people learn that Sonar X3 is as good as any other DAW on the market.

I just hope that Cakewalk software and Tascam hardware don't become so tightly integrated that the rest of us (non-Tascam owners) become second-class citizens over here.

I would imagine they still have (had?) a license deal w/ steiny.  And Cakewalk will not tie its software to Tascam only - that would be silly.  I do look to see some cooperative ventures - future Tascam hardware will come w/ Cake software and there will likely be controllers/interfaces much like Roland.  But if Roland couldn't tie Cake to their hardware, why would Tascam?  Win/win, not win/lose.

Have no fear, they will be.

No worries about that, either. This isn't Avid

Yes, but I'd still be annoyed if future SONAR versions added a lot of features that were exclusive to a new range of Tascam interfaces/controllers.

With every Anderton post comes a nice dose of reassurance. Glad it's you representing The Man, Craig!

We've started shipping TASCAM products with SONAR X3 LE. More to come.

I am happy guy, everything seems to be coming at me!!!
Running a very smooth system here with X3d and Tascam DM-4800.
I wish Tascam made a new similar desk but with track displays like sonar and a few nobs for controlling plugins…specially for sonar!!! (i.e. PC etc).
