It'll be a long wait (and a few patches later) .. maybe around the time of a show... that's what seemed to happened in the past.
 

I feel it is brash of Cakewalk to release X3 without a trial/demo, after treating loyal users to a communication blackout for most of 2013.  Clearly, many X2 users have issues with the unbaked software.  It's uncool to ask these users to pay up to see what was fixed vs how many new bugs were introduced.
 
I really hope Cakewalk is on a better path with X3.  I just do not "trust" them yet.  Who knows what nagging bugs will be left-over/created after X3d.  Will Cakewalk go back into hiding to make X4, while those who use the program in different ways remain frustrated and in the dark?  Semi-patiently hoping for the best...

I'm still waiting too. It was tough, but I had to turn and look the other way with that free $20 they offered by last year's end!

Good work. Also, Sonar's release cycle is shorter than that of those daws, so the demo should be available with the release. I prefer a 2-year release cycle, though (like when it was X1).
