Figured I'd post this update in case anyone is thinking of getting an EMU card for a new machine that has Vista on it.
No, no... don't do that.
Why on earth, if you're serious about audio, would you get a new PC with Vista installed on it? Are you buying it at Best Buy or Circuit City or something? Jeez. Scott at ADK or any other PC builder who knows audio applications will sell you a new machine that comes with an OEM copy of XP Pro.
Can't answer your question, as I installed Vista on my own in addition to XP Pro.
It works fine for me with my MOTU and its Vista drivers... I don't feel like a beta tester at all. Sonar + Vista + MOTU 828... runs right along... with the only exception being Pentagon I.
But, since there are inevitably people who have purchased a computer with Vista pre-installed that are also in the market for an audio interface, I figured I'd give a head's up about how EMU is doing... in case they don't know where to look for this information.
I thought that was the purpose of this thread...
Just trying to post information some might find usable, not start yet another Vista-sucks thread...
If I had wanted that, I would have resurrected any one of the other 30 or so. My post wasn't about Vista, it was about EMU's Vista drivers.
