  • How To Route Separate Midi Tracks?? (p.2)

OK did you do the part scook mention above?

"To get separate audio outputs from Poise, rename the dll. For all 16 ouputs create a 'Poise 16 Out.dll'. This is covered in the Poise manual on page #4 under the heading 'Using Fixed Output Configurations of Poise". When inserting the renamed dll in a project select the 'MIDI Source' and 'All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo' to show all the audio outputs associated with the synth."

If you have done the above, Sonar should now have inserted the newly created 'Poise 16 out.dll' drum synth into the synth rack, and because you also selected the MIDI Source and All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo options during the insert, Sonar should also have inserted a single midi track and a whole bunch of stereo audio tracks (16) routed to Poise 16 out.

If all of the above is as it should be, all that is left is for you to change each of the drum 'cells' in Poise to use its own audio output channels, so kick would go to perhaps audio output channels 1/2, snare would go to perhaps audio output channels 3/4, etc.

The whole idea is to route each drum kit piece to a separate pair of audio output channels in Poise 16 out, then have separate stereo audio tracks in Sonar routed to each of those audio output channels from Poise 16 out, and the midi track in Sonar would point its output to Poise 16 out.

Does the above make sense?

So, I can adjust gain and fader and effects and whatever for each individual stereo audio track in Sonar, for each drum kit piece's output coming from the Poise 16 out in the synth rack.
