I'm working on a piece of corporate music with a short deadline.  I need some white noise style effects, things like soft explosions, "cymbal roll" sounds made with noise, that sort of thing.  I'm trying to think which VST instruments that come stock with Sonar X1/2/3 have sounds I can work with.  Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried Hollywood Edge FX in Dimension Pro?

I've got Dimension Pro but I can't locate Hollywood Edge FX.  Are they in a subcategory?
 

A sampling of the Hollywood Edge FX package came as additional content with SONAR 8/8.5. Not sure if it is bundled with the X series. There is an expansion pack for DimPro http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=10-DSD11.00-20E. It may be easier to work with a sound FX loops, there are free sites like http://www.freesound.org/ which may have what you need.
