Hi all, as continued from another thread, this is the issue with the PC FX Chain. All LEDs from other PC modules are lighted and flashing away. The only one LED not working is the FX Chain Module.

Green > Yellow > Orange > Red

would others kindly confirm... many thanks!!!

Try snipit in windows for screenshots. You can even highlight the LED in question.Thanks.

Anyway I can see the image now (now I'm on my desktop)...

The light is part of the Pro Channel and only shows if the Pro Channel is overloaded (at least that what it appears). If you click the POST button next to it, it should light up because the Pro channel will be after FX Bin.

Interesting point, is there actually an overload light for the FX bin, maybe VST's don't support this?

Hi Alex, according to the Sonar X3 Manual on page 1031, the FX Chain Module is shown to be lighted with a Yellow LED.

hope this helps... cheers!!!

Ok so I'm getting more confused.
FX chain and FX Bin different.
I was referring to FX Bin (although you were referring to chain it seems).

If we are talking about FX Bin I don't know where the overload light is for contained plugins, I would expect one somewhere which is easily visible (?).

If we convert the FX Bin to a FX chain and double click to open it you will get VU meters but if you close it, nope, no light.

NB I am assuming the documentation needs updating as you haven't given me an online link (to a webpage not a PDF) so I could be looking at a completely different manual (I just downloaded the latest Sonar X3 reference guide). It appears the documentation needs updating anyway.

Somebody please tell me I'm barking up the wrong tree....

This FX Chain "thinngy" is part of the ProChannel.

This is an FX Bin that contains a FX Chain and channel tools:

If you drag the FX Chain into the Pro Channel it will become part of the Pro Channel.
I didn't test that scenario (I guess overloading VST's in this scenario should light up the Pro Channel light).

There still doesn't appear to be overload lights FX bin.
Bedtime sorry !

Cheers...

OK so let me attempt to get myself out of this muddle (sorry the screenshot wasn't clear to me originally).

Yes I can reproduce this, the light in the FX chain, that is embedded into the Pro Channel, does not light up if I insert a Nomad BT Analog Trackbox into it and crank up the output so it overloads.

However the Pro Channel warning light will light up regardless of it being POST or PRE the FX bin if the FX Chain is embedded in the Pro Channel.

If the FX Chain happens to be in the FX bin, the Pro Channel warning light will only show red if it is in POST MODE, which makes sense as the Pro Channel is after the FX Bin. However if the Pro channel is in PRE mode, there doesn't seem to be a warning light for the FX Bin so nothing happens. In fact the Trackbox doesn't need to be in a FX chain at all in order for this to happen.

In summary:

FX Chain light doesn't work in it is embedded in the Pro channel. I would say that is a bug???
There doesn't seem to be a warning light for the FX chain at all which seems inconsistent.

I hope this makes sense, it was difficult enough for me to write.
I hope somebody can supply me some feedback.

Thanks...

Let's make this easy peasy:

STEPS
1) New Project
2) Add Audio track and drag in a drum loop
3) In Console View right click the Pro Channel -> Insert Module -> Add FX Chain.
4) Add a Nomad BT Analog Trackbox into it and crank up the output so it overloads.
5) Play

EXPECTED
The LED next to the FX Chain power switch lights up red.

ACTUAL
Nothing

IN ADDITION
Where is the overload LED for the FX Bin??
