  • Vintage Channel available in X2 Producer?

I upgraded to X2 Producer a little less than a year ago. Recently, I was interested in trying out VC-64, however I can't find it.  I see VX-64 which is a vocal strip, but nother than looks like the Vintage Channel I've seen in reviews.  I think I read somewhere that the developer responsible for VC-64, Kjaerhus Audio, folded or something like that.  Did Cakewalk drop the plugin midway through for X2?

The plug-in was included with X2 Producer but dropped from X3 Producer. I cannot recall an instance of Cakewalk not shipping a plug-in mid-version. Kjaerhus went out of business some time ago. Check the plug-in manager, including excluded plug-ins. If, for some reason, VC-64 failed to install, run the installer again and use the advanced install option to get the plug-in installed.

I believe it's listed as "vintage channel " in the plugin list under custom install.

Remember it's 32 bit only and won't show up in the 64 bit plug folder. When you find it and scan it in the browser will show it as 32 bit and give it a different color.

It is installed in the 64bit VSTplugins folder on 64bit only installations. At least, there is where it was installed on my machine along with several other 32bit only VSTs supplied by Cakewalk. I thought the color change in the browser started with X3.

mixing 32 and 64 bit plugins in the same folder seems odd?

Thanks for the responses everyone.  I searched in all the installation directories and don't see it.  I went into the custom installation for X2 Producer and selected only Vintage Channel to install.  I still don't see it in Sonar or in any of the install directories.  I found an old thread from 2006 when Vintage Channel was first included with Sonar.  A bunch of people were having the same problem with Vintage Channel either not showing up or not installing at all.  It looks like some of them had to edit registry entries to get it to show up.  I will e-mail Cakewalk support to see what they recommend.

Now that you mention this, I remember something like this went on. It never did happen to me so it wasn't something that I stored in the old memory cavity. Let us know what ya find out.
