I am very new to music production. I am a keyboard player and having a Roland Juno Stage. Recently I bought one Roland UM-One Midi Interface and planning to buy Sonar X3 in the next few days.
My immediate requirements is that,  I want to play some music on my Juno Stage and record it in my computer. Can I use Sonar for that purpose? If so how can I do that? Is Roland UM-One is enough for that purpose in terms of set-up for recording from Juno Stage? Is there some tutorials how to do all this please? Thanks in advanced.

All that is described is a keyboard, a MIDI cable and DAW software. All these pieces will work together but it is not  clear how audio is going to be handled. Is there any requirement to record audio from sources outside the PC, such as the keyboard? What is the plan for monitoring while recording or during playback?

It depends on if you want to record the sounds from the Juno Stage, or use the Stage to trigger sounds from the included Sonar synths. If all you want is to record the sound from the Stage, then you don't even need a MIDI interface, but you do need a dedicated audio interface. Something with minimal inputs and outputs would suffice if all you're recording at one time is the keyboard. I use the Focusrite 2i2 and it works great for this purpose.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I want to record sounds(I.E: What I am playing on my keyboard) to the computer. That's my basic requirements...I have no idea of controlling sound or something else : ) Just want to record what I play on my keyboard...that's it...How can I do that? Thanks...

Well, then you need an audio interface, not a MIDI interface.  The MIDI interface will send the Juno Stage's MIDI data into the computer, but you need the Stage's audio sent to the computer.  There are many USB audio interfaces on the market, and you could search this forum to see what people use and recommend.  I use the Focusrite 2i2, which I believe cost around $150 USD.  There are others in this price range from Presonus as well as other manufacturers. 
 
Having said all this, I think you'll probably want to use MIDI to trigger the sounds from the included Sonar synths.  I've not heard the Juno Stage, but TruePianos, Dimension Pro, and Rapture are just 3 instruments included with X3 Producer, and they sound fantastic.  If you're dead-set on ONLY using the sounds from the Stage, then you could save some money and buy X3 Studio or Essential, which don't include all the software instruments.
