The feature requested in post #1 now works in X3e. Thank you bakers! (but you forgot to correct the inconsistent mousewheel zoom behaviors between the Drum Grid pane and the Notes pane...)
CWBRN-20756 is confirmed as fixed as you say so it will be closed.
If there are further outstanding issues related to this I suggest logging new separate issues. Thanks....
