Super easy - choose the "Move" tool, third tool icon from top left...

You've just replied to a question that was posted 10 years ago. I'm not sure whether your description of the move tool is applicable to Sonar 7 anyway.

Hi,

Bring the mouse to where the space is in the front and drag it towards where your recording starts.  YOu may want to leave a little space so that when you burn a CD, MP3, etc., the music just won't start as soon as you play it.  You should see a shaded area.  Then go to the menu field on top and click Edit.  Look for Delete Special.  A window will pop up, click the check box for Delete Hole then click OK.  This will delete the space.  If you deleted too much no worries, hold down the Ctrl key and press Z for Undo and try it again.  Hope this helps!

What I do is leave all the tracks where they are from the original recordings.

Then after, Bounce to Track(s), I trim the extra space at the beginning and usually add a fade at the end.

Isn't this why we were given Ripple editing ?
Not for Sonar 7 (Cant believe im responding to this 10 year old thread) but in Platinum, it takes literally 15 seconds. Markers and tempo changes move accordingly as well.
