I am running a Saffire pro 40 now & have 8 analog inputs but will need to be able to track a full drum kit + guitars, bass, vocals at the same time.  The reality is that due to the smaller size of my space the drum tracks will likely be replaced with drumagog because they don't sound to great in this room, so the quality of the mic pres is not all that important for these.

I have a 16 channel Yamaha mixer I use live and could even use the pres on it and then go into a 2nd interface if there were one that only had 1/4" jacks on it but either way I need to be able to daisy chain it in via ADAT into my pro 40.  I was looking at the Octopre  and it has the functionality I need but is there something that might be less money since I don't really need great sounding pres for this?

Hi Chuck

Have you looked at the Behringer ADA8000?

Like all Behringer kit (in my experience) I find it very good value for money. I don't know how that compares price wise to the Octopre but knowing Behringer it'll be very competitive.

As FBB sez, the Behringer is a good low cost option.

Thanks guys, That looks like it would fit the ticket and get me the I/O required for less money.  At this point I'd rather spend the bigger money on Items that will actually increase my sound quality in the finished product, Since I'd be replacing the drums sounds here & that is the only time I'd need the extra inputs... who cares!?  I'd rather spend some bucks on better Mic's, & outboard components to enhance my signals on the way in etc.

   Much Appreciated!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the Behringer if you get one.
