Updating to version 3.1.3 is not a required update; however, some iLok-protected software may require that you use a version of 2.5.0 or greater. Please download the latest version from the iLok License Manager page of ilok.com.
New in Version 3.1.3:
Important note for Windows 7 users: your operating system must be completely up-to-date prior to installing version 3.1.3.
  • Changes to an iLok's name are now reflected in account data saved on the computer
  • Added a tool-tip for the Works On graphic on the license detail pane
  • Windows version:
  • Improvement to address a problem with the PACE License Service not starting up reliably
  • Fixed an issue with the Windows License Support installer
  • The Windows installer now installs an iLok driver signed using EV (Extended Validation) Signing when installing on Windows 10

Good! Maybe that startup problem is finally solved.
I'm going to get the update now. If anything bad happens I'll post back.

Inspiring upgrade. The damnable thing still does not auto start contrary to claims of what they said they fixed. The "upgrade" was however able to wipe out my licenses with warnings that the internet connection failed and thus the plug unauthorized to use. They graciously did allow the GUI to load with all functions disabled. Something about a first warning, meaning possibly if I failed a couple more times, everything would melt down (?).

The computer is on purpose disconnected from the internet. I was able to patch into cyberspace to get my Eventide Ultra Channel strip working again although have to manually start PACE if I want to use it. Crashes Sonar with a hard freeze otherwise. I've lost functionality maybe 8 times in the past for Eventide, on top of PACE failures that have never let me use Waves and UVI softwares.

Trying to keep an open mind about this wretched curse.  I'm very much aware that the majority of PACE users experience nothing but bliss, freedom and good vibes with Ilok and PACE. My experience is for some reason atypical, way out in left field, but is getting old and intolerable faster than I am getting old and intolerable.

Next time Eventide goes down on this end, breaking out the fine Warez crack that works like a charm. No more games, permanent fix. Ilok and PACE can sit and twirl on my middle finger. Paid good money for the software, just want the right to use it after the fact.

Probably the iLok manager is the culprit of the issues I'm having with the Sonar's VST scan.  I've never had a problem with Sonar until now. I had to install the iLok manager so that I could install the Stereo Room from Eventide. Sonar didn't recognise this plugin even adding the path in the VST manager and the VST scan started to scan indefinetely...

When you start your computer click on the iLok manager to make sure it has started - if not go into services and just start it.
I have got into a routine now - after starting I check my UAD card is initialized, my Powercore has kicked in (This invariably has not and I have to unplug and replug then it starts first time) and I click and check iLok manager.
All this started after one of the windows updates.
Hope you get it sorted

Atsuko,

Like Nigel said, make sure the PACE service is running. Otherwise everything will crash. Depending on your OS, can access what is running either thru the task manager or the control panel under administrative tools and then services. From there, start PACE. The new improved "fix" is corrupt about starting PACE. Does not work here.  I've tried on win XP, 7, 10, and PACE is dead in the water without a manual start.

My individual problem is with a UVI sound bank that shows it is activated from the PACE side, but computer says unauthorized. No reply or help from PACE, and UVI said I'm just flat out of luck. Thanks for the non refundable purchase however.

Was able to get the Waves deal on GTR and CLA amps. Neither would install. Error message on the computer said that PACE is corrupt and has to be reinstalled, go to the website and download the latest version. Latest version says it can't install because PACE is already installed. Dead in the water with no help from anyone, and worst thing about it, realized nobody cared.

Took a couple minutes to download an illegal crack of GTR. Installed fine and no problems. I can live without the amps and taking it as a minor economic loss.

Maybe someone else with more knowledge can chime in here, but in Reaper, the loading of plugs is in a vst ini folder. Got to be something similar with Sonar. The last entries are the last plugs installed, and can cause a quarantine of the failed plug. Cleanest approach is to open the file and delete the last entry, then rescan with a fresh start, after PACE has been manually started.

Hope this helps,
John

No idea if this is related to your problem, but there is a problem with some plug in manufactures products (on my machine it is Sonnox ) where you have to have an old legacy version installed - to be honest I'm not sure why as I only found this tip in the FAQ on the iLok website, but I downloaded the legacy version, installed and the Sonnox stuff worked - I have upgraded iLok since and it still works, so I assume it must be an old component I was missing or something like that - I actually have lots of UVi stuff and no issues for me - perhaps try the loading of the old legacy software and see if that makes any difference??
Cheers
Nigel

Nigel,

This makes sense and will give it a shot. Thanks for the advice.
