Hi, John, it's too bad...  I hope the people at iLok resolve it soon.

Yes, I hope they get the problems solved also. It is just strange in retrospect that some will sail through the Ilok and PACE schemes with no problems. Others will encounter nothing but problems.

I read your earlier post, and the endless scanning is definitely an artifact of PACE not having started. Starting the "service" before opening Sonar should fix that.

I was unable to find an editable vst/vsti file in Sonar, but the registry has to be there somewhere. Better minds than mine may chime in with an answer as to where it is located.

Going back to Reaper only as an example, the registered plugins are written into an ini file. This file contains also all of the quarantined plugs. Problem is that these quarantined files still exist as an entry and can play havoc when trying to rescan them once they have been cursed by the DAW. I know there are rescan options, but I don't trust them. Cleanest way to get a fresh start on any plug that doesn't show up is to get to the file that encodes their status and erase the entry before a rescan.
Hope you were able to get the reverb unit running.

Hi, John,
in fact, I hadn't the time to follow your advice but I plan to try them in the next days as soon as I have the time. I'll let you know. I hope that, in the meantime, the Bakers resolve the VST scanner issues.
Thanks!

The new version did not solve the "startup" problem on my DAW.  Installed...restarted...powered up SPLAT and...you guessed it...no iLok plugins.  Had to go back and change the PACE services yet again to "automatic delayed startup".  Sheesh.

WOW....
reading all this,
makes me glad for my decision to NOT use Iloks,
or any future software that has to use this annoying device.

thanks for sharing,
and clueing me in.

Unfortunately, Windows update will sometimes reset the "automatic delayed startup".
Other updates such as your graphics card getting an automatic update can prevent Pace services from starting.

I always check for windows update and get them all done before starting a recording/mixing session.

That said, I have not had any problems with Ilok since my initial problem was solved.
I have the delayed startup turned off now.
