Ahhh...It's a beautiful day for recording. Too bad Session Drummer3 ain't in the mood. I'm beginning to believe this software is waaayy more difficult than rocket science.
I'm trying to start the tracks and at the appropriate time hit play on session drummer app (loop is on) to record. I know I'm getting a signal because the meter is registering on the track. I/O is Sess Drmm MIDI Omni/UA-25. Record button on. I'm new at using plug-ins so I know I'm missing something. I've already recorded bass and guitar on this project. Need help. I tried to attach a screen shot but something wrong with attachments on this forum software.

That doesn't mean anything, as it depends how you inserted Session Drummer. If you only have a MIDI track and no audio track to output the audio, then that is your problem. MIDI is just data and the MIDI track needs an audio track to make sounds.

I'm 99% sure that all this is a routing issue. But no screen shot is necessary, as you just need to click insert, selecting the soft and then select MIDI Source and All synths MONO or Stereo outs and synth property page track and Sonar routs everything for you. Its easy cheasy bro.

If its not the routing then its a sound card driver issue that you need to correct yourself by adjusting the ASIO or WDM settings, but im almost sure its a routing issue

Rules and regulations.Rules and regulations...I get enough from the government. I have to take it from Cakewalk as well!

You're probably right about routing but I did what u said and 29 tracks were created and loaded with session drummer. No record button on the track. I thought maybe this was just the audio track for MIDI to play thru so I went up to my MIDI track and clicked record button and tried to record. No luck.

What did you try to record? Playing drums with your Keystation 49 (correct way)? Or trying to record clicking the drum pictures in the user interface or playing back the beats  (the wrong way)?
Also in your opening post that " at the appropriate time hit play on session drummer app (loop is on) to record."
makes me think you haven't read the help files nor the manuals.
You simply drag the MIDI beats to the MIDI track (and edit them to your liking) or play them with your Keystation.

I read some but obviously not enough. I thought it would be as simple as setting up the track, hitting the record buttons, letting music play and then when I wanted drums to come in I would hit the "play button on Session Drummer" App (with the loop button engaged) and that particular pattern would loop and record into the trak.
No joy there so finally figured out to get a correct trak setup I needed to select First Synth Audio - not All Synth. When I selected All Synth it created 24 trks of session drummer. First Synth created one audio and one MIDI trak with a record button on the MIDI trak. So far so good. I select a pattern from Session Drummer and drag and drop into the trak. Only problem now is there is an added short little pattern added into this pattern at the end that is not part of the pattern when I demo'ed it. Also, I'm only getting about 4 bars of this pattern and I need it to go thru whole song. Tried cutting off the extra pattern notes and then copying and pasting the first pattern over and over. Not working well. The snare and Kick reverses. I'm obviously not doing it the simple way. Just a matter of finding the right instruction. Thanks for your time.
