I tracked a quick beat to familiarize myself with the software (X3e). Sound is fine going in tho there's latency issues. a few second delay from the time I hit play or record to the time it actually starts. Also delay with the note and actually showing on the software meter. But on playback just noise. Posted a video here ---> http://youtu.be/GvxsoOyDfLA

The pause before playback looks like count in for the metronome. Go to Properties > Metronome and see if you don't have it set to give you a measure of count in.

Next, the playback is all messed up. You aren't hearing the Metronome click or the audio from Sonar. Try exporting the audio and then listening back using your regular computer and see what you hear... Like use a media player to see if you can hear it ok.

Check your Audio Driver Settings in Sonar.

Please provide your settings for:

Audio interface: Sample Rate, ASIO Buffer Size

Sonar: Sample Rate, Driver Mode, Total Roundtrip Latency, Record Bit-Depth

Also, what kind of plugins are loaded into this project?  (Please list all the plugins you have, by name)

Thanks,

And also a description of what is connected where would be nice. There are several interfaces in your gear list. Are you using several simultaneously??

I would look into updating your sound interface/s firmware and drivers next.

Thanks all!

@gswitz thanks it was on but even tho I turned it off it still has that delay. Before playback & record.
I hear the metronome I had the volume off in the video. But yeah I can hear it. I did export the the track as a wave file and converted it as an MP3 neither would play in window media or ITunes.

@Kalle I am using multiple interfaces. 828 & ff800

@Alex all are up to date. Was all working fine before I updated to X3e

@robert not doing asio went back to wdm. No plugs just a simple scratch drum track to get everything functioning properly. photos below.

Did you export the file as 44.1kHz audio - Try 16 bit as well.

Are you able to listen to YouTube videos ok? X2 works fine, right? You are only having problems with X3?

When you say FF800 that's an RME Fireface?
