  • Cannot reply to forum posts at certain times

Every day around 8am GMT I lose the ability to reply to posts whilst the USA is asleep. A few hours later things are back to normal again.

I get "An unexpected error occurred and logged. Please try again later."

This shows it is a server side issue and not a problem at my end.

Maybe the backups running at this time?

Maybe the spammers are trying to log in at this time (they always seem to post around this time) and we are getting a denial of service (DDOS), although I can post new posts so maybe not.

Maybe a timeout value needs to be increased for postback.
Maybe backups can be rescheduled so they complete before 7am GMT.

Would the forum administrator mind investigating their logs (ASPPlayground.Net software)? I suspect there will be a whole load of similar entries.

My IP address begins with 86.185.146 using IE 11 64 bit.

It's a little weird because it's only when reply to posts, not creating them.

Thanks

I didn't notice it happens at certain times, but it does often happen during the "prime time of posting" on this side of the pond. Quite annoying if you've written a longish text, and then you must copy-paste it somewhere if you think it's worth posting later, when the lines work.

It's working again now.. But it seems to happen every day like clockwork.

I also have this problem here in the land of everyone's asleep but me - USA East Coast.  (I average about 3 hours of sleep a night, and frequently see this error when I post in the AM).

I've been experiencing this issue, as well, and it is irritating to discover after you have typed a post the forum wont post it.

I've also been getting slow forum load times and often have to refresh the page to get it to load correctly so it marks new posts in threads as distinguished from already read posts.

My Internet download speed is 50mps, so what's up with that (the slow loading of forum pages?)

It often happens to me when trying to post around 7pm.

I believe Cakewalk use AWS Amazon Web Services. Could it be traffic related?

On mobile devices I often can't submit a post and most times can't quote a post

Traffic or some scheduled process like a backup I'm convinced. Cheers...

It happened again to me earlier this evening.
