I can vouch for 'roller', I have been trying to help him since yesterday with this.
He is having the same problem with Studio One (Presonus), Native Instruments
and a couple of others, although Vienna Instruments have helped him out with his account.

I have suggested maybe calling Cakewalk support by telephone.
If anyone from Cake reads this, maybe they can chime in with a suggestion.

Cheers

I had a similar problem with my Email years ago. It wasn't hacked but changed and it was CW support over the phone that set things right. They also updated my account to show all my purchases through the years. (Turns out there are a lot of them.) Before only a few things showed up.

Because you have been blocked with the old Email you will probably have to contact each vendor by phone.

I just sent a PM to Ryan, from Cakewalk - with a link to this thread.

I would imagine he will need to verify you are you, in some fashion, but you cannot yet respond to any Private Message he would likely send you.

I believe you can begin to send and receive Private Messages after you have posted 25 times, so my suggestion is that you find some threads in one or more of the forums and post some helpful or at least meaningful responses, until you get to where you have posted 25 times.  That way, you should be able to generate and receive Private Messages, which I think would be required for you to get this issue resolved for you with your email access to the Cakewalk Store account.

Good luck,

Sorry to hear about your Hotmail account, mine was hacked a few years ago as well. They used it to send spam, after first trying to con all of my contacts with the old "hey it's me, I'm trapped in Europe with no money, can someone wire me a few hundred?" scam. I had a pretty tough password so I ended up reformatting and reinstalling Windows in case I had a keylogger or something. I had to jump through hoops with Microsoft to get the account back (it helps if you can remember a few email subject lines and some of your folder titles, as well as a few of your contacts) but I got it eventually.

I changed the password to 32 characters of random gibberish. Within a month, they'd hacked it again. This time Hotmail wouldn't let me have it back no matter how many hoops I jumped through. Although I'd long since switched my personal email over to Gmail, I wanted to keep it both for sentimental reasons and because I'd used the address on some guitar tabs that I'd uploaded years ago that people corresponded with me about. But they wouldn't let me have it. I never gave up however, and sometime a couple of years ago when everything changed over to Outlook.com, I tried again and by some miracle they gave me the address back. Everything had been wiped from my account however, so I lost a load of stuff, but at least I have it back now. I don't use it for anything important because my faith in Hotmail has been completely annihilated (after reading how often Hotmail accounts get hacked) but at least I still get my guitar tab emails.

Anyway, don't give up on the address, especially since this is the first time it's been hacked (I hope!) - if you Google Hotmail account recovery, you'll find instructions on how to reclaim a hacked email. There are steps you can take. Good luck!

If you need to bump your total posts up to 25 (so you can PM), I suggest you go to the coffee house and reply to any of Bapu's topics.

In fact, you could probably reach platinum member status if you follow this rule for long enough...

I have a similar story to Sharke. It was Yahoo. As a result I got banned from the Yamaha 01v user group because it looked like I was spamming.

I didn't loose the account but I gave it a password that I can't even remember :)

Yahoo is worse than Hotmail, but like Sharke, I keep all my old Accounts and use them for certain contacts. I use Yahoo for some forums and log ons to consumer stuff like Home Depot. This keeps this junk away from my main business account too.
With Yahoo I simply read emails and delete most. I deleted the address book. I only check there once a week.
I use Hotmail the same way and it is my contact for Cakewalk. I also get all the special offers from people like Kobo books and Air Miles. There are no people in the address book. Just businesses.
So far G mail has been spam free and I like the way it syncs with my Android phone.

But this leads to why my Yahoo was hacked. Be very very careful when using a smart phone to log on to your accounts. Smart phones don't seem to block phishing. And web sites look different so we get duped easily.

I would try and get your Hotmail account sorted out. I'm pretty sure they'll try and help you, Only bummer is you'll be talking to someone in Malaysia who will take 20 minutes just to get your name right ( Just did this with Office 2010 issue)

Again - please get your post count up to 25, so that you can send and receive private messages.  This will allow you to communicate directly with some of the Cakewalk staff that frequent this forum, and they can either directly help you, or will make sure someone in support gets working on helping you out.
