I lost the IRs I downloaded to my old computer.  I liked the way the files contained the names of the venues from which the responses were recorded.  There must have been somewhere in the order of between 200 and 500 files in the package.  One file name  I recall was Worcester Hall ... I assume a music hall in Worcester MA.  I am having trouble relocating the download site and wonder if by some stroke of luck someone out there might know what I am talking about and where I might find the site.

Alternatively, what is a good set of IRs for a new guy just playing around with them and trying to learn more.

I don't know of any free collections of real spaces. Do post here if you find it again.

It may not be a real space. There is a Worcester Hall in Samplicity's Bricasti M7 Impulse Response Library http://www.samplicity.com...-m7-impulse-responses/

You may be talking about Noisevault. The IRs are not there anymore but there is a blurb saying they will be back.

Hi Conrad, you may have gotten them from here http://www.resoundsound.com/4-impulse-response-reverb-packs/  The "Bricasti M7 impulses by Samplicity" is the first of the four. That link was posted in the Coursera forum.

The other part of that post was for HybridReverb2

Great links everyone, thanks! I was only aware of the Bricasti ones, and thought that couldn't be it - looks like it was after all, haha :)
