I had to scrub my computer as windows 7 was acting up. I've have all versions of Sonar since 8.5. I have to reinstall X3. do I have to go back to 8.5 or start from my first X3 upgrade?

No, every version is a complete version including the upgrades. Upgrade refers to the price paid for the product. If you want to install X3 only, start with the original X3 download files (or DVDs) and then apply the X3e update.

Keep in mind there have been some plug-ins dropped from SONAR over time such as Lexicon Pantheon (dropped from X1), R-Mix, VC-64 and V-Vocal ( all dropped from X3). To get plug-ins from a previous version run the advanced install option of the previous version of SONAR and select the plug-ins to install. The exception being V-Vocal. V-Vocal is an integrated part of the install of the SONAR program; it is not a separately installable plug-in. To get V-Vocal installed, run the advanced install option of a previous version of SONAR and select the SONAR program.
