In cakewalk, I could click on a track, select a portion, and edit it.  I have no idea how to do that here.  I go to the sonor university and end up with some demo about the producer series drum plug in.  What the?  Is there anything better than what cakewalk thinks passes for users guide?

Only thing out of date in regards to X3 I think is lanes. The video is not just for X1 or X2 users.

There's a lot of coverage in that video, it's worth viewing from beginning to end.

This is what you want.. I agree the videos are pointless for some of us. I have a slow connection so it would take a month to just get to the open the program part.

Search and Index are very helpful in the online documentation.

I'm not quite sure what problem you're experiencing or I would try to offer advice on how to fix it.

I don't get this thread at all. There is an owner's manual. Granted, it's buried away under the obscure and misleading menu item "help", cunningly hidden in exactly the same place as it is in all Windows programs.

I guess there's nothing helpful in the 1800 + page Sonar reference guide either.
