Hey

Running Windows 8 64 bit and Motu Ultralite mk3 hybrid. Sonar X2 producer.

Reducing as many uneeded services as possible in services.msc.

The service Motu_ZeroConf is described To: "Enables hardware devices and software To automatically configure themselves on The network and advertise their presence".

This is currently Put in Automatic. I run My computer as a DAW mainly, and normally turn of any network connections (use it for downloading updates sometimes.

I recon It should be ok To Put this service to manual at least?

What about Windows audio and Windows audio endpoint builder services? I dont use Windows audio, I run Motus Asio drivers. Maybe Windows audio still has to be in Automatic?

Thanks

You still need the Windows Audio service, and it depends on the Audio Endpoint Builder. So yeh, you need them both.

I don't know about ZeroConf, though. My guess is it's probably safe to disable.

Whenever I see a service that may be unnecessary, I just go into services.msc, stop it and see what happens. If it was needed, something won't work, or another service will complain that it can't start. In any case, a reboot gets you back to where you began and no harm's done.
