I guess they'd combine it with the cello and viola as a bundle. I wonder if they'd have 2 violins modeled to make a Quartet, in the same way they have 4 french horns for a section.

Edit: Out
129 Euros
3 Million VND

It's out now, I was epecting to be nearer Christmas from their pre release info.

129 Euros, like the Viloa and Cello, no beundle as yet, my guess is a bundle will come out when either
1) The dust has settled on this release
2) When they use the same set up with a different tonal violin to call it a second (or first for more hype) Violin. Maybe after feedback from the this one. And call it a Quartet
3) After they complete a Bass

On the SampleModelling Forum, they've said that some of the developments from Violin will be added to Cello and Viola.

I'm hoping they take the feed back from Violin, and make their Second Violin tonally different, to create a quartet. Then trickle down any other developments from this again to their existing string models They've made tonally different models in their French Horns, Trumpets and Trombones, so there's some precedence for this.

I'm waiting for the bundle as it's really the Cello and Viola that interest me more than the violin.

I'll be curious as to the just "play" it thoughts... aka Bohemian Violin or the way OT allows us to set up transitions... I get soooo challenged by the multiple setups/tweaks needed to get the awesome sound...

Definitely gonna get me some breath controller and a new keybd which gives me control via continuous controller peddles... dream/hope is finding funds for NI's Kontrol 88

I'm impressed although still feel Bohemian is the most emotional and plug&play at the moment... their 2nd mega expansion is due out next month.

Was REALLY blown away by Chris Hein's Cello... WoW!

I was the Chris Hein thread I saw you on. The video is amazing.

I am so happy with SM brass,  and how playable it is from the WX5. I haven't delved into manually post manipulating the other functions to see what that adds, but the fact I can get a realistic sound without having too, and knowing there is more has totally sold me.

I hear some of the criticisms that sometimes the strings sound a little synthy, or saxy. But I think that's a performance issue, with the midi, and can be avoided in the playing or with little fixes for the slips. So I'd expect to have to adjust my playing and how I attack a note differently.

The other thing that appeals is their bass clarinet. My tastes come more from Modern Jazz where its pops up a lot, and I love that sound, it's like dark chocolate. I like ensemble work like Gil Evans, Jaga jazziest, and the SM seems well suited to this sound.
