It appears I have an audio out on my TV that will not override the speakers.
 
I'm thinking of adding THIS transmitter and THIS earpeice.
 
I know the earpiece is for a phone but will it work for my purpose?

Should that really matter if your willing to weigh in on if my choices meet my requirements (i.e. will work)? 
 
Anyway, The Lovely Lady has excellent hearing and I don't. The TV could be set her level and I could (presumably) have a better level if the earbud was shoved into my ear canal.
