Thanks Alex....my bad :) .  And Thanks Ryan, I think I finally got the file downloaded.  The file I'm showing as downloaded has a size of 646,887 Kb.

I'm not in the studio now...so I was trying to download it so I can install it tomorrow from a flash drive.  I think it's all good now.

The issue you are having is that Cakewalks links are embedded within JavaScript.

This link will time out. You're best to use the method I gave. This might confuse people more.

Doesn't right-clicking the link at the bottom of http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013361 give you an option to download with FDM?

Disregard the comment below. My download software was not working. The link actually now does initiate a download and then brings you back to the knowledge base page again.

no that link:
Download the SONAR X3e update for SONAR X3 Producer
is presently pointing to:
http://www.cakewalk.com/s...reader.aspx/2007013361

which will bring you right back to the knowledge base article where it is posted i.e. it is a misdirected link and does not take you to any kind of file download

Worked last time I gave him a direct link to Amazon servers with X3D :). But I agree.

Yeah, I know. I just mean posting links like this on the forums might confuse people down the line since anything signed by Amazon S3 or Cloudfront most likely will fail after a while. Then they'll be hitting YOU up for new links. You ready to take on that level of support? ;)

Also in general, I'd always recommend people obtain links from Cakewalk and not from strangers. No offense to you Alex, I know you mean well... I just think it's probably a better practice in general for everyone to click on links Cakewalk themselves provide for official updates.

Yes, I know, but it does launch the download in FDM probably due to how I have FDM configured.

You will notice the link has the hashcode so it can be checked... And it is pointing to your virtual server.

Only if they pay me. I have a paypal code if necessary.

I'm aware of how the links work and how to check with the hashcode, but that doesn't mean everyone else is and it doesn't mean it can't easily be disguised.

Ultimately it is still not how we wish to distribute the download. If people want to access the download, please suggest they use the KB link or Help > Check For Program Updates.

I think I stated "I agree" in #14.
And I still have a PAYPAL code if anybody is interested, gotta make a fast buck somehow ;).
