That is rather cool that Matt posted in the forum directly. I have gotten more and more respect for Focusrite since buying their gear.

How small? Limiting case would be failure to play back one mono track smoothly. If it can,  you're into a bandwidth issue, if not, I'd look for a conflict, probably outside the audio realm.

I have checked the DPC latency and it hovers round 90 Us max of 200 us, so all green. I emailed focusrite support last week, got an email today. Sent in my specs, haven't heard back again. case 27227. Thanks!

Focusrite are the best, best hardware, best support, best drivers... that is all. Massive expectations are thrown on them and they always ultimately deliver.

I spent a year in that studio in Oxford circus where they bolted their gear on the side of a Neve desk (I remember the maintenance engineers wetting themselves with joy when they tested it), that's the reason why ultimately I got the interface. I was recently surprised to notice that they quote this as part of their history in their blurbs, I'm glad they are proud of it, it's quite justified.

Make sure you have your latest video card drivers. I've reviewed a ton of Focusrite gear over the years, always worked as expected ...except for one time, when there were pops, crackles, and horrible latency settings. When I updated the graphics card drivers, it worked exactly as it should have.

Thanks Matt, 3.4 beta was just what it needed. No stuttering now! :) Yeah Craig, video drivers was one of the first things i tried updating, then rolled back, then forward again. Thanks to all who chimed in. A forum full of brains is better than one.

This has been an interesting thread for me, as I am currently shopping for a new interface to replace my dead MOTU 828MkII and the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 currently tops my short list of candidates. MOTU's support is notoriously bad - is it the general consensus that Focusrite is more responsive to customers?

Bitflipper,

If you start another thread, maybe in the hardware forum, I'll bet you would get lots of feedback, including mine. For now I'll just say +1 for Focusrite and the Saffire Pro 40, though, as always, there is much to consider.
