Usually you would route through VEP5/MIR unless you are just using MIR by itself as an audio plug. The first way you'll find Tabs in VEP that say instrument, mixer, MIR pro... MIR pro is where the placement takes place. As for The second way, you can insert MIR plugin in the FX bin of an existing synth audio or regular audio track which. I prefer VEP5/MIR. Do you have VEP or just MIR? Also, DON'T use VST3 version as it is not 'implemented' in Sonar X3 ( you'll get silent bounces). Also you will have a 16 midi channel limit in Sonar, which you work around by freezing/bouncing and loading another instance of the same room/mic position and continuing.
Hello Blogman,
Are you actually using Vienna MIR Pro in Sonar X3? It sounds as if you might be able to help.
I have just the MIR Pro Plugin (I don't have VEP5). I have installed MIR Pro and it loads in Sonar. When I insert an instance of MIR Pro into an audio track, the MIR Pro engine opens just like it says in the manual. However, the instrument isn't showing in the engine window and there is no sound from that track. When I switch off the plug in the track the track sounds again.
I have tried clicking the 'Connect' icon but nothing happens. I have asked in the MIR forums and am still waiting for a reply there. I'm not sure if they would know a great deal about Sonar though so it would be particularly relevant if I could fine a Sonar user who is using just the MIR Pro plugin or who could try it and can confirm this actually does work in Sonar.
Can you check this out for me and if it is working for you do you have any suggestions I could try?
Thanks.
