Hey guys, i wanna buy a new mic for Home recording, im gonna use this mainly for Vocals (hard rock/metal) and might record some acoustics in the future anyway im torn between these two and i dunno which is better? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hard to tell! Is this gonna be your first mic, or do you already own one or more? 

i think the sm7b will be more forgiving with rock vocals, expecially hard rock, than the senn will be

I have a sennheiser e835-s but it is not good for home recording...

The sm7b needs a pre-amp with a good amount of gain, more than a condensor mic. If you're just using the amps from your interface you might want to try it out first if you can avail yourself of an opportunity to borrow one, just to make sure you'll have enough gain

ahh i forgot to mention i have the LINE 6 Pod Studio UX2 USB Audio Interface...

The e835 isn't such a bad mic. We use them at rehearsal side by side with SM58s and no one seems to care which is which. 

I believe the MK4 will be a more useful addition to your studio at this point. Also because the UX2 preamps get real noisy at high gain (which the SM7B requires).

  yeah the sennheiser e835 is a pretty good mic but dont think its good for "Home Recording" i dunno it just sounds so weird with clean vocals... something is wrong but i dunno what , its pretty good with screams tho..
