There's another way to rebuild your sound library. But this would require another hard drive or a portable storage.  Copy your ST3 content folder to another driver. You probably don't have to copy everything if driver space is limited. Have ST3 point to the new location and it will rebuild the library. Then point it back to the original location.

In the top right corner of ST3 there are 4 icons. Click the 3rd from right icon to access settings. Under Disk path click browse in order to point ST3 to your content folder.

My library was relocated long ago.  That doesn't stop the rebuild on first launch after update.

I hope it rebuilds my sound library again!

Yeah, love looking at that. It's about the only thing my SampleTank gets up to these days.

Same here.  I forget that I have it and don't take the time to explore the sounds.

They reset the database with the software install.  Nothing you can do, you will have to sit through the rescan after an install.

I have SampleTank  - I use it rarely - it works when I use it so to be honest I cannot be bothered to update it.
The amount of updates we get these days are so many, they stop you making music sometimes!
I have started to only update well after release and only if I really need to.

I agree. A certain percentage of updates introduce a bug or change you don't like. Time, distraction, loss of momentum. Maybe free updates cost too much.

That reminds me...I should probably get around to re-installing ST3 one of these days. I keep forgetting it's not there anymore.
