Isn't it most IPs are dynamic. Fixed IP spammer probably won't reveal itself.

Anyway, after the ban, the spammer did post again with another ID.

That's why you ban ranges. After a week of them you might be able to block out their entire subnet unless they happen to be proxying globally which case you are screwed and you end up having to vet all new user posts or downward spiral (eventually).

Preferably, if you can get a bunch of IPs, you can find out the ISP and get them to block him. That's a lot more effort though.

Some forums won't let you post until your first post is viewed by a moderator.
Spammers are too lazy to try and get by that roadblock.
We get spam because this forum is one of the easiest to join.

Next time you spot a spammer, why not send them a 4 gig file. 6 hours or Am on a sustained tts-1 sax section.

With robocalls, I will sometimes sit and call them over and over and over and keep their line busy as long as possible. I have too much time on my hands and am happy to share it with them!

I just happened to see one of those Babji spammers start to do his thing, and thanks to the Unlimited Mod Mojo powers bestowed onto me from Cakewalk, I was able to ban him, ban all IPs he's ever used, and delete all his posts.

Unfortunately I have not yet found the option that sends a 2 kilovolt surge down his modem line. Maybe someone can help with that?

Cryptolocker would be just as effective.
