I want to use Eco as a VST in SONAR X2. Installation went ok, however the drum track is silent both as standalone and inside SONAR. Also midi groves do not show up even though I have precisely indicatated their location during installation.  The drum track is properly armed, kit is loaded, individual drums "flash" yellow when hit with a mouse, Eco is switched on, individual drums are not muted, product is registered. No idea what else to check.

Am I missing something stupid or I have a more serious problem ?

Make sure the audio tracks are outputting to a monitored master out.  Seems to me I run into this with BFD2 as well.  You may need to check audio preferences in BFD.

The first thing I would suggest is to open it in stand alone mode and get it running there.
This should rule out any issues that you may be running in to that are sonar related.

Is it running in ASIO mode ?
BFD products only run in ASIO mode which has caused a few headaches for certain sound cards in the past.

As for the midi library not showing up I'm not sure what to suggest.

Is the folder installed here C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD Eco\Grooves

Have you tried rebuilding your databases ?

Incorrect. I use WDM and it works fine.

That's interesting, I'd assumed that since BFD2 went asio only that it had applied to Eco too.

I'd have to ask the bakers but it might be that wdm and mime isn't supported rather than it won't work.
In the same way that anything prior to windows 7 is no longer supported but people are still running BFD Eco & BFD2
in vista and XP.

Thank you guys. Even though I have reloaded drum kits many times before with no result, all of a sudden it worked at attempt No. 35 - finally I have audio coming (standalone is still silent).

Yet I cannot find a way to merge midi groves with Eco. I have Groove Monkee mapped for BFD2 and BFD3 but Sonar refuses to show them in BROWSER. Also BFD Eco Groove window does not allow to load midi files neither does a search in "search" panel. Yes, they are in C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD Eco\Grooves

Last but not least only 32 -bit version is seen in Sonar list of instruments, the 64-bit version was installed in the same folder. Any idea?

Generally speaking, all my 32bit plugs/software are within C:\Program Files (x86) and the 64 bit ones are in just C:\Program Files. When installing BFD or any other software that has both, I make sure they're seperated into their coorect paths. I also have all my drum/synth samples on a dedicated drive.....(I have 3 drives with one being for OS/software, the 2nd for Sonar projects, and 3rd for samples).

Perhaps, Sonar isn't recognizing the 64 bit version as it's in the 32bit folder? I don't know.....

You can try uninstalling Eco and re-install them to their correct paths. Also, if you can get it to work in standalone before getting into Sonar, you'll eliminate a lot of unnecessary troubleshooting. FWIW, I briefly checked last evening (standalone) and mine works as it's supposed to. I'll check in Sonar tonight.

Thanks, I'll do that. In the meantime, again accidentally Eco recognized my midi grooves.

In X2, I just loaded Eco and played a few of its presets.....and they played in sync with my project (without doing anything else).

It's strange that Eco "accidentally" recognizes your midi grooves......it should be that it does ALL the time, or it doesn't at all. I'm sure a uninstall/re-install of Eco should correct that.

When you say "in sync" do you mean you already have drums in your project ?
BFD Eco will follow sonars tempo so it will inevitably play in sync with your projects tempo
but not necessarily what you want.
To stop Eco from playing a groove by default go to the groove page and turn off the groove button
by turning either track or single on. This will allow you to play the midi from sonar without BFD ECo
playing the loaded groove.

Hope that makes sense
