There have been hundreds of reverb recommendations on this forum, but here I am speaking just of Lexicon Pantheon (as shipped with Sonar) and NI Reverb Classics (24 and 48—see link).
 
Does anyone have direct experience with both and, if so, can you tell me whether or not the NI product would be a significant improvement over Pantheon?  Sound on Sound gave the NI package a good review, but, of course, did not compare it to Pantheon.

I don't really remember Pantheon (which Sonar did that come with again?) but I have to say the NI ones are excellent! It's always useful to have a bunch of different verbs, if you're just looking for variety, may I recommend ValhallaRoom from ValhallaDSP? Pretty cheap and really good.

For $199 you have a lot of options.

I was in the market for reverb late last year I believed I had tried the Waves Renaissance, N.I.'s 48, redline and 2C's audio breeze, valhalla room, all in demo. My conclusion is that I like Redline and Breeze the most. They are usd 150 each and both sounded different but are on the same league. I went for the Breeze when it was on sale for 75 during Chrismas. I also bought Waves Renaissance and learn to like the reverb.
 
All the Valhalla reverb at also very good for the money at 50 usd a piece. 
 
But I was not impressed by N.I. 48 nor the Reflektor that came with my Komplete.

Pantheon came with Sonar 8.5 PE. IMHO it requires a lot of tweaking to get a good sound. There are a few people in this forum who likes it while some others felt that it has shown it's age as newer reverb has came into market.

I think it was still available with SONAR Producer Edition until SONAR 8.5. I know it's on the SONAR 8 disks. I can't remember if it's included with the SONAR 8.5 digital download. I didn't buy the disks for 8.5, so I always pull out the SONAR 8 Installation disk when I want to install the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb. But it is no longer included with SONAR Producer Editions starting with SONAR X1, I believe.
 
 All this time, I thought the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb included with SONAR is only a 32bit version. But I just went and installed it from selecting the 64bit install option and it's working in SONAR X1 x64!
 
Man am I pleased! All this time and I'm just realizing there is a 64bit version!

My first version of SONAR was the first SONAR, SONAR XL. I've been into SONAR since then, so I remember some things about the software.

I have and use both the NI 24 and 48 they are my go to reverbs. I had the Pantheon loaded up in X1 and used it a lot. But TBH I prefer the NI units. As I recall the SOS reviewer's final word in the review was: "Classy". I'd have to agree.

I also really like them. But they came with my Komplete 9. I don't think I'd have forked over the 200 bucks if they hadn't. ValhallaRoom on the other hand...

NI all the way. I'm not using overloud so much now. The lexicons emulations are very similar to the real thing.
