Hi guys, I noticed that in X3d Producer 64bit freezing DimPro throws the frozen wav out of time with the track. What the heck am I doing wrong..?

Does it matter if you have Plugin Delay Compensation on or off?

Is it an evolving timbre?

Just check in preferences that BounceBuffMsec is set to zero. This is default now, but I guess it's possible that the setting may have changed or been migrated from a previous version.

That shouldn't be a problem for any 64-bit synth; it's only a problem with Bitbridge, and X3 shouldn't load a 32-bit synth when a 64-bit equivalent is available.

That said, I did kind of wonder if that might be a factor, since the Bitbridge bug is the only common cause I know of for frozen audio being later than live synth output.

How late is it, Ludwig? And which patch?

Try using the Slow Bounce option and/or higher ASIO latency. It could be a disk I/O bottleneck from disk read errors, fragmentation or writing audio to the same physical drive that the samples are being read from. Plugin delay compensation only knows about CPU time, not I/O overhead. A slow bounce might give it enough extra time to compensate for any unexpected disk latency.

I can confirm this.

I have three synths in a project. Rature, Dim Pro, and Session Drummer 3. Also have one audio track.
All midi tracks have eighths notes.
When I freeze Rapture, all notes stay on time.
When I freeze SD3, all notes stay on time.
When I freeze Dim Pro, it goes out by eighth note. It stays in time, but the first note is delayed by an eighth of a beat.

Anyone else?

Okay, I unfroze/re-froze some existing projects, and it wasn't a problem. So I created a test project using drum patches, and it also freezes with correct timing.

Something's missing from the recipe. No doubt Dim Pro is waning in popularity, but if there were a general problem with it in X3d I think there would have been posts about it before now.

Kinda in agreement with you b-fly. Something is missing, we are doing something different, some explanation.

I was surprised that there wasn't more posts about this. I'm going to try it on my win7 machine after dinner.

Update:
Started new project.
Loaded all synths with their own trks, not Simple Instrument Trk:
Dim Pro
Rapture
Lounge Liz
Session Drummer 3

Loaded a midi scale file on all synths.

Froze all one at a time, separate. No time drift.

Go figure!
