  • Roland should have announced Win 10 drivers for V-700 already just in good faith

I don't see why there is an issue that Roland haven't publicly indicated they will update the VS-700 system.
Some people bought their units new just a few years ago, and it would be a total failure for Roland to give up support for drivers for the 700 system so soon. And especially for this Windows 10 OS that's touted as the best yet for audio processing.

From what I've heard it only takes minimum changes from 8.1

The unit is less than 5 years old.

Roland please make VS-700 Windows 10 drivers so we can better utilize our investment.

Roland and Yamaha have both walked away from great products because they didn't sell in large enough numbers. I have a control surface that is branded Cakewalk by Roland. Cakewalk IMHO, should cut a deal with Roland and take on the development of drivers themselves. I think Roland sees the relationship is done and the VS-700 is no longer their problem. It's sad that really good hardware goes to landfill because a manufacturer moves on to other things.

It's a shame and I do wish something could be worked out since they have no interest in further development anyway. There is no reason to punish the people who bought the gear for the sake of principle in this situation. Hell, open source it so that someone else with programming experience can create the new drivers if you have no interest in doing it yourself.

I'm now certainly reconsidering buying a $9,000 V-Drum set I was planning on buying because of this. If they won't even take care of their $4,000 console, I can't be sure that 5 years down the line they will care about their drums either.

Yeah it's a shame no word yet.

But Roland may do something since I'm sure they'll be updating the VS-100 which is same era and family of converter.

I just put in a request about this stuff in the other forum. You may want to look at it and vote.

If every single VS700 owner rung up Roland, and emailed them, and tweeted and posted on Facebook.. I suspect the drivers would have been out yesterday.. Apply some pressure I suggest.

I have VS 700 working fine with windows 10, 64 bit.
In fact... there are a number of speed improvements.
Microsoft have done a good job with this release.
I am sure Roland will release drivers soon.

There's a big thread about it in this very section of the forums. It's a bit fiddly, but it does work fine.

In the meantime it appears firewire VIA chipsets are shagged under Windows 10 even though the drivers are distributed with it.

Same old same old...
