I haven't tried this before as I've been very happy with my "regular" bass, but I want to experiment...
 
I've setup dimension Pro and selected the Real Bass Patch called Fingered & Slap (vector)... I'm suspecting that it can somehow switch back and forth (controlled) between the fingered and the slap bass... It doesn't seem to be volume mapped, so I'm guessing it uses a switch so that each sound can be had at any given volume, but I can't seem to figure out what the switch is? A controller?

I think I didn't explain my needs well, so I'm editing this in... I see I can use the vector mixer to change between the two sounds, what I can't find is how to assign that to a control so that a performance can switch between the two samples on demand.... Like using a midi controller to a/b the sample sets...

Thanks... I just found the vector controls as well as element on/off controls listed under NRPN...
 
I think I only need to use one Vector  as the two elements are mapped low vol at top, high vol at bottom, left is one element and right the other... so I only need to experiment to see which (x/y) is the left/right (horizontal) control... I don't remember my graphs anymore... ;-)
 
Now I've gotta figure out how to assign this to the mod controller on my old Roland S50 (still my keyboard controller) as it's the only "switch" available on the keyboard... a wheel would be too slow... the mod controller on the s50 is a vertical movement on the otherwise horizontal pitch bend...

I see it's the Vector X I need to use... At least that part was found quickly.... ;-)
I guess I need to look at the S50 and see if the mod control can be assigned to the NRPN... I think I'm outta luck here...

Add an Automation lane on the MIDI track.
 
In the Event filter for the automation lane choose "MIDI..."
 
In the popup dialog under "Type" select NRPN , then look in the (long) Value list for "Vector Mixer X"

I've got that part done, but what I wanted to do was to assign the control to a piece of hardware so that I could flip it during a performance... Using a fingered/slap bass patch that balances the two elements with the vector...
 
Hmmm... Maybe if I set the vector to equal volume for each and then switch the elements on/off? I'll have to see if that has a chance...
 
Nothing earth shattering, jut an experimental thought...

The easiest way would be to right-click -> MIDI Learn on the Element 1 / Element 2 Vol knobs.  (Keep in mind that this routing will persist across all DimPro instances until you MIDI Forget it, or delete the config file.)
 
You were right: center the vector first on the horizontal X axis.  Right-click on Element 1 Volume, and MIDI Learn in CC 1 (Mod Wheel - as one example).  Same thing with Element 2 Volume.  Right-click a second time on one of the Elements and select Reverse.
 
You may not want to go from zero to full volume.  Dial where you want the minimum volume, right-click and Set Min.  The same goes for Set Max.  Double-clicking on the virtual knob brings you back to nominal default values (0.75).
 
If your keyboard controller has aftertouch, that can work well here (hands never leave the keyboard).  Since Channel Aftertouch averages across all MIDI keys, you can hold down a note (even silently, or out of range), and "keyswitch" between the two Elements with added and reduced pressure.  It will affect the rest of the notes you're playing.
