Okay, so nevermind that I get six tracks fine but the 7th stops recording @ 4:10...is there a CLASS for this freaking software?

Can you give us some insight into the hardware/system specs you are running please? A lot of "issues" tend to boil down to drivers, hardware, and setup options, so please take a moment to let us know how you are set up.

#1 - Does the transport stop, or just the recording?
#2 - Are you using punch properties for recording or not?
#3 - Is there any audio beyond 4:10?
#4 - what record mode are you using?

and as requested, your system specs as well as a project setup would help.

the rig an ASUS A8 5500 APU, 8G, 64 bit, running WIndows 8.1. Now let me look into record mode and maybe I activated a PUNCH something or other...

guitarmech111- #1 just recording stops, transport and playback are fine #2 no punch lit up or selected #3 playback audio continues #4 how can I check recording mode?
