I've been having the same problem with one of my projects. I deleted Garritan Personal Orchestra and so far the project hasn't crashed, but before I deleted it I would experience a crash, getting the crash report window the OP is describing. I also couldn't save anything in the project. I would get the "cannot save, disk may be full" message. I have no idea what the cause it. I'm also running X3d. I am using True Pianos on this project and it is not causing any crashes.

I have had downloads AND installs fail when my antivirus software was running during either the download or the install.

There are hash values on the download page you can check against what you downloaded, to make sure the files are correct.

IF you do need/want to remove the current installation and install a fresh copy, you MUST make sure to remove the correct registry entries and the program data folders before you install Sonar again.  This is to remove all traces of the prior installation that you are having trouble with.

I just did a project with GPO in it as well as BFD3 and Kontakt with Dim Pro. I had no trouble at all. GPO with the Aria player works just fine. X3d Producer and Windows 8.1 64 bit.

When I saw the title, I assumed it was a parody thread.

I wonder if it's even a legit copy.

Getting a bit paranoid Craig. Not everyone from Russia is a pirate. Most, but not all. Let's see how this plays out.

I don't think he was being paranoid at all, that's one of the tell tail signs of a boink copy.
that or a vst conflict, im not so sure of a installation problem.
if its not a driver issue then its probably a vst conflict.

nothing wrong with asking a user if he's got a legit copy either, I don't know why some would find that offensive.
I don't. my email here is the same account all my stuff was purchased with.
and to be honest, would'nt you find yourself wasting time helping someone with a "swab the deck copy" ?
I do.

I've done other projects with GPO and not had this problem. It seems to occur only in one project so far. I'm going to open a new project and copy the midi track from the problem project and see if I can use GPO in the new project to accomplish the work. If that works I'll copy the final audio track to the project that keeps crashing and hope that it doesn't crash. I haven't done much with the project since deleting GPO, so I'm not completely sure the issue is gone.

I tried going back to X2 with this project to see if I could finish the work there, but I encountered the same crashes. I've spent time on the phone with Cakewalk support to see if the cause could be isolated. We were not able to determine the cause, so a case file was opened to examine the data to see why this might be happening.

I should add that I haven't tried working on other projects that have GPO and other plugs since X2, so I can't say with certainty that the problem won't occur in these projects in X3. Seeing that the OP seems to have the same problem is reason to think that there *may* be a bug.

I'm using a Sweetwater Creation Station 400 that is about a year old (upgraded to 16GB of RAM) with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 & Windows 7.

I didn't say it wasn't a legit copy. I said I wonder, because unusual and consistent crashes are often the sign of a crack. It's also possible to buy a pirated copy that looks legit but isn't, although I haven't seen this happen before with Sonar...it's mostly an issue with Adobe and Microsoft products, where even the packaging looks perfect.

I have a friend that visits China every couple of years. He has some stories to tell. Disney stuff over there is ALL pirated as is most of the software you buy. He tells me there's no way to tell it's fake.

Gibson also suffers from this issue. I was at my friends guitar shop and he asked me to look at a Les Paul. I look it over and some things are not right, even though it had all the correct stamping for dates and a Custom Shop decal. I knew it was no where near the quality of my goldtop but the stamping and decals threw me off. Some guy bought it online for $300.

I guess North America can't shut down offshore corporate piracy because they make everything offshore and owe the Chinese a boat load of money. It's just what happens when you dance with the devil.
