Hi there.  I am new to Komplete and am trying to use the India Discovery Series instrument in Kontakt.  Sadly I am very confused.  I am trying to play a certain progression on the Bansuri flute.  However the notes are really screwed up.  For example in the scale of G, the note B is way out of tune.  It also produces the identical pitch to the C note.  So the instrument is unplayable right now.  Can anyone help?  Thanks

It has a scale setting by default to match what you can actually play on the physical instrument, which can be switch off somewhere on the GUI. Just set it to Chromatic and you should be fine.

Check out this video and it tells you how and such.

Thanks I'll try this tonight.  I have discovered that I have this problem for all libraries in Kontakt.  Not just India.  Which means that I have a general Kontakt issue where B and C play the same out of tune note.  C# and D are identical and so on.

Yes, there are a few libraries that work like that. I don't think Kontakt can be set up to do that for everything. Either way, good luck ;)

A few updates.  No solution yet.  I have this problem with all Kontakt libraries. The onscreen keyboard has the same issue as well.  I tried to use the standalone player and that asks me to activate Kontakt.  When I hit activate I get Native Access which says I have a fully installed version.  Very confused.  Any thoughts?

Do you still have Service Center? I have noticed that some things need to be activated through that. I don't know why, I just go with it ;)

But your other issue is weird, to say the least. Just to get the spoon in, does this happen with, say, the trumpet and piano from the Kontakt Library? And other 3rd party libraries like Intimate Strings Lite? (http://www.embertone.com/freebies/intstrings-lite.php)

Makes me wonder, what kind of MIDI controller are you using?

It sounds like it could be a good idea to completely remove Kontakt and every trace of it, and reinstall it. However, could there be something in the main settings that glues it to some weird scales by default?

Which MIDI Controller keyboard?

Before remove/reinstall/update anything (which takes longer time) please try the following:

I. Insert an Instrument Track
ii. Assign a Kontakt instance.
iii. Add some MIDI notes to the track from Piano Roll View.
iv. Play the track are they still detuned?

Are you trying to scale using your midi controller? If so, don't do that...

Are you using Kontakt with a NI Komplete Kontrol keyboard? If so its possible you have a scale setting activated on the keyboard or in the Komplete Kontrol software, this would mean any notes not in the set scale will be converted to the nearest note in the scale.
