I enjoyed watching this video of Holdsworth in his home studio. Getting along a little in years now, and it was sad to read in the comments that his health has deteriorated and he struggles to play these days, but it does look like he's musically active going by the set up he has in this studio. Couldn't believe he still has an Atari ST in there, running Cubase 3, which he says is absolutely rock solid and NEVER crashes! LOL!

Hi,

Nice to see someone not showing off another Gibson, or Fender ... I think that's a Steinberger ... and I wonder if anyone else here actually plays a headless guitar. Daevid Allen used to say that they "hold" much better and the sustains are smoother. His was a Hohner.

Nice to see an oldie but goodie still working ... the program was so much simpler then to use ... nowadays, it's insanely crazy and no one uses 75% of the DAWS, I bet!

FWIW, the headless guitar he was using was his own signature model with Carvin.

My best midi studio rig ever was an Atari 1040 running Master Tracks Pro and driving a room full of Kb's and modules. I remember spending almost $500 for the software and it came on a single 3.5 floppy.

Anyone remember playing midi maze on the Atari? I think it was the first FPS I can remember on a computer and a bucket full of fun. We used to get a half dozen guys together and network our computers using the built in midi ports.
