Haven't been here for a while but I thought id pose this one...

When I delete a plugin from a track the actual plug-in still remain in my synth rack. I did ask support about this 2/3 years ago and no solution then.

Surely by leaving the plugin on the synth rack (like an orphaned plugin) this 1. means you forget you removed it and 2. puts increased loads on your cpu?

I would like to see a way of when I remove my plugin from a track that it will remove it entirely from Sonar.

Is this still an issue or is there now a more elegant way of removing redundant plugins from tracks?

Thanks
Martin

Try deleting the synth from the synth rack instead of deleting the tracks associated with the synth. The dialog confirming the synth deletion from the synth rack includes an option to remove the associated tracks.

This protocol accommodates scenarios where you're using a multi-timbral synth and have multiple tracks feeding it. If you delete a track and the synth goes away, then the other tracks won't feed the synth any more. What scook mentions is the correct way to delete a synth, because then you can verify that you really do mean to delete all associated tracks.

yes, that would make sense, its old habits, I will try to approach my synth/track deletion this way...
