I would like to make the stereo imaging better. When I drag the pan line on the drum item, it is aver subtle to no change left or right. smae when I pan 100% in the edit mode. so how do you make pans 100% right or left. Also. When I slide the volume slider down on the kit for a drum the volum only changes with the kit window. But it does not change the global volum in mu midi track while I play it. You're going to have to clarify where you're making panning an volume changes and what audio outputs you have set up for AD in SONAR.

If you're only using the stereo Master output from AD, panning may seem to have minimal effect because the Room, Overhead, FX and bleed signals from other instrument channels remain centered. In order to get full control of the instrument placement and levels, you'll want to enabled the individual "Out" routing at the bottom of each instrument/channel strip in AD, and set up a corresponding tracks in SONAR with input set to that channel.

You can probably achieve what you want within the AD mixer, but you'll need to edit FX sends and bleed levels on individual instruments, and limit the contribution of Overhead and Room signals to allow for more independent panning.

Life isn't always hard, but drum synth signal management can be.   You'll just have to do some experimentation with different AD and SONAR configurations to come up with something that works for you.

Also, in  your mix, if you have the room and OH mics over powering the DIRECT mics, the panning of the kit pieces will be less noticeable.  Try balancing the mix with more kit mic and less ambient volumes on the kit pieces until you balance them to taste.

Don't mean to be redundant on what Brundlefly said but perhaps a bit different wording will help the OP.

Hope that helps,
Jim
