Not new install on w8: 8.5.3

Today:  cannot move midi/audio clips.

Can: cut/paste, and copy/paste.

Why this?  Why now?

Sounds like the clips are locked. Do they have a little lock icon on them?

Thanks. But no.   I looked for/at every settings.  Did what I could.

Powered off the laptop.

Next morning all was working properly.

What was than about?

Never thought power cycling could cure such.

Another bit of stoopid I never wanted to learn. And hopefully will not remember.

Except to always obey the first rule of computing:
When in doubt, restart the piece-of-crap, and then again.

Just had the same issue, no matter what i tried, the clips would not move with the mouse. They WOULD move with keyboard nudge though...
Reboot did indeed fix the issue. Boggles the mind. :)

Sounds like maybe you were trying to move with the wrong tool selected. Were you getting a selction box when dragging? That, or you were trying to move a small amount with a larger snap resolution enabled and magnetism Off. In that case, you get no movement until your cursor reaches the midpoint of the distance to the next snap point; but that wouldn't change with a restart. Nudge would continue to work in either case because it doesn't depend on tool selection or snap settings.
