Yup, although I haven't done it to an actual SSD drive myself.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you backup to?
 
I use Windows Home Server 2011 Microsoft Connector on all my home PC's.  They backup nightly incrementals  to my HP MediaSamrt ex495 server which has 12TB of disk space storage and it uses Drive Bender to manage multiple copies of the files and backups to each of the disks on the Home Server.  So if one disk fails or is beginning to look a little suspect then I'm notified of it and have a spare disk ready sitting next to the server to hot plug,n play the bad disk...

I have a similar situation but with a Linux box and acronis true image . Everything is mirrored raid...workstation and server.

I run windows server as well but that's for IIS and website apps/Hyper V.
